چکیده

Supersymmetric extension of the QCD (SQCD) is considered, and the scale dependence of some important parameters, i.e., strong coupling αs and b-quark running mass mb, is studied with the help of three-loop renormalization group equations. Fiveavour QCD is considered as a lowenergy effective theory of SQCD, and two-loop decoupling (threshold) effects are taken into account. Variations in running αs and mb at the GUT scale μGUT = 1016 GeV due to uncertainties in the initial experimental data and the ambiguities in the decoupling scale are analyzed for a particular point of the parameter space. Comparison with known results is given.

Matching coefficients for α s and m b to O ( α 2 s ) in the MSSM

We compute the exact two-loop matching coefficients for the strong coupling constant αs and the bottom-quark mass mb within the Minimal Supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM), taking into account O(αs) contributions from Supersymmetric Quantum Chromodynamics (SQCD). We find that the explicit mass pattern of the supersymmetric particles has a significant impact on the predictions of αs and mb at h...

NSF - KITP - 06 - 86 Four - loop β function and mass anomalous dimension in Dimensional Reduction

Within the framework of QCD we compute renormalization constants for the strong coupling and the quark masses to four-loop order. We apply the DR scheme and put special emphasis on the additional couplings which have to be taken into account. This concerns the ε-scalar–quark Yukawa coupling as well as the vertex containing four ε-scalars. For a supersymmetric Yang Mills theory, we find, in cont...

αs(mZ) from τ decays with matching conditions at three loops

Using the recent four-loop calculations of the QCD β-function and the three-loop matching coefficients we study the induced errors in αs(mZ) obtained from αs(mτ ) due to the evolution procedure. We show that, when consistent matching and running is used at this order, these errors are pushed below 0.0005 in αs(mZ). The beta function and the quark mass anomalous dimension govern the evolution of...

The quark masses are fundamental parameters of the QCD lagrangian which are not predicted by the theory. Their definition is not unique since quarks are not observed as free particles, but confined inside hadrons. Therefore, the use of dynamical expressions is mandatory in order to determine the masses of the quarks. The perturbative pole mass, Mq, and the running mass in the MS scheme, mq, are...

Strong coupling constant to four loops in the analytic approach to QCD

The QCD analytic running coupling αan which has no nonphysical singularities for all Q2 > 0 is considered for the initial perturbation theory approximations up to four loop order. The finiteness of the analytic coupling at zero is shown to be a consequence of the asymptotic freedom property of the initial theory. The nonperturbative contributions to the analytic coupling are extracted explicitl...
